Hemp Headlines 602

Welcome to another week of Hemp and Cannabis News.

There’s a large segment for Legalise Cannabis QLD in this weeks headlines.

As we fast approach October for the Queensland Elections and also in the interim the many bi-elections taking place.

LCA and LCQ have both been busy updating their websites and newsletters, so if you want to know more make sure you check them out and the segments below.

Drug Driving Laws remain a hot topic, even seeing Doctors and Medical Professionals coming out of the woodwork to express their dissatisfaction with the ongoing Drug Driving Laws.
It affects us all, Legal or not, and I’m willing to bet there’s a few big name professionals who also take the chance, everyday.

Check out Alternaleaf, repping themselves on footie team clothing, thats going to be an catcher for sure! Cant wait to see how the the Consumer Watchdog handles it.

Haven’t heard or seen much on ACannabis this week, hopefully we see some press releases and so forth in the next week or so.

Thanks for Reading,

Hemp Edification on Facebook

Trundling out all the same old tropes against cannabis will not keep working, as the science is showing cannabis is NOT the problem on the roads that these prohibitionists keep insisting it is. Road fatality rates have not changed over the decade plus of roadside drug testing as presence does NOT equal impairment, as we all already know.

Ipswich West By-election

Melody has hit the ground running in the Ipswich West electorate with a flying visit out to Rosewood for a community meeting, contact with local radio stations and being hounded by both the Liberal and Labor parties with the age old question, “Where do your preferences go?” The LCQ does NOT direct preferences, the voter does! Those in the electorate choose whom they vote for, putting Legalise Cannabis Queensland at number one and filling out the other three as they see fit. See our How-to-vote page on the website!

Volunteers

The Facebook Group is getting busier, with the candidates getting out and about already with corflutes, flyers and business cards being left in nominated places. With three endorsed candidates, there’s plenty to do! The FB Group is specifically for the valuable and tireless Volunteers.
You’ll meet like-minded people from all walks of life! You’ll be given the chance to re-educate the voting public on the value to our nation of cannabis and hemp legalisation for all. We can also promote the Party’s ‘Legal Regulation in Three Stages’.
We also note the Party is always on the lookout for volunteers with good computer and administrative skills to help behind-the-scenes and with social media. If you’ve got any relevant skills, we would be very glad to hear from you!

Clinical Application of Cannabis Vaporization:
Examining Safety and Best Practices

Introduction: Cannabis vaporization is useful for individuals requiring fast-acting method of cannabis administration and for individuals using smoked cannabis as a harm reduction tool. There is a need for guidance on how to assess if a patient is a vaporization candidate and how to safely initiate and monitor cannabis vaporization.

Methods: An overview of safe cannabis vaporization, including practical guidance and tactics to promote the lowest-risk use, is provided. This review was developed through a combination of expert clinical opinion and reviewing the available literature.

Results: Dried cannabis vaporizers and metered-dose inhalers are recommended to be used over other vaporization devices. Assessing the benefit versus risks of vaporized cannabis and providing guidance for choosing a vaporization device, choosing a cannabis chemovar, and employing a mindful vaping technique are important steps in the safe utilization of vaporized cannabis. Dosing optimization and monitoring to limit adverse events and improve symptom control are essential.

Discussion: The utilization of cannabis vaporization presents an important opportunity for clinicians and other health professionals to help facilitate safer cannabis administration and reduce the prevalence of smoked cannabis.
