High Headliners!

I’ve barely been in the garden in weeks, but another MardiGrass is done, though not quite dusted. The marquees have to be packed away and stages dismantled, etcetera. A few volunteers remain in the camp and thankfully the sun is back to dry everything out again.

It rained for the week before and on and off during the protest, but nothing seemed to dampen any spirits. There was a great vibe over the whole weekend, under the full moon. That’s what happens when several thousand people all get high together, with a purpose, and I noticed less and less alcohol. We are connected, and not as separate as it appears!

I enjoyed having all the Legalise Cannabis MP’s together and appreciated Stephen Lawrence from NSW Labor coming. His boss, our Premier Chris Minns, is overdue on his promise to help medical cannabis users drive without fear. However, it sounds like he still won’t just leave us alone if we have a prescription, like opiate users, he still needs some machinery to help tell if we’re impaired or not. It’s taken thousands of people unnecessarily losing their licence, and sometimes their jobs, to get to this point. And still we wait.

There was a lot of discussion about legal weed versus homegrown and now the Police won’t participate (like they once did) in the MardiGrass ‘Tug O’Peace’ with the big hemp rope, ‘Legal’ versus ‘Homegrown’ became the opposing teams. Needless to say, the illegal users won on both days!

No one likes the compulsory irradiation of all legal weed which is certainly helping the black market do well. Health-wise it would obviously be better, if our medicine was grown organically in the sun, like all our other vegetables. I understand sterilising imported foodstuffs but why when it’s grown here? Germany doesn’t irradiate their legal weed! Another dumb Aussie first.

Interesting story below on microdosing in America. I often hear about people doing it with mushrooms, sometimes acid or MDMA, but twice as many people in the States are doing it with weed as those drugs. In fact nearly ten percent of their population is. In Australia, microdosing ‘shrooms is super popular. They grow for free all over the place, and they stop you being an anxious driver.

Keep an eye out for Aimee Pearson in the Farrer By-election this weekend, while we all wait to see how Pauline goes!

Love to everyone.
