Fan-tailed Cuckoo

Fan-tailed Cuckoo

I’d love to see a Fan-tailed Cuckoo’s tail – spread out, but she keeps it folded. Maybe catch a glimpse of her in the eucalyptus canopy, preening her tail. A flashy fan dance of her black and white striped tail, open, shaking side to side. She’s a brief visitor here during her migration, lays one egg in another species’ nest, then flies out. She is magnificent. Protect her habitat.
